The better you study, the better your chances of getting a really great degree!

That's why we help you enhance your study skills with the help of the Academic Skills Community.

It will help ease any worries you may have about studying at HE level.

But more than that, it could help you maintain high levels of academic skills throughout your university career.

The Academic Skills Community provides access to help, advice and resources to realise your academic potential. Access the Community on myBU by clicking on the Academic Skills tab.

Resources include information on a range of topics from academic writing, referencing avoiding plagiarism and research skills. You will find workbooks, quizzes, self-help tutorials, podcasts and video materials to suit all learning styles. Browse the material and services available to find ways of developing your skills or investigate a particular skills topic and follow links to subject-specific information.

The Library and Learning Support Team offers a programme of academic skills workshops throughout the year and students can make an appointment for an individual tutorial to give help and advice.
