Bournemouth House renovations

Date: 30 March 2012

Bournemouth House

As part of BU's commitment to delivering an excellent student experience, work is due to begin next week to create new facilities in Bournemouth House, Lansdowne Campus.

The new facilities will include:

  • A new student space on the ground floor, called Boho, which provides a space for students to relax and learn
  • A new 50-seat learning space
  • A new outdoor social seating area
  • First floor student lounge relocated to B130

Students in the School of Health & Social Care will also benefit from a new Programmes Office to replace the current B420 admin office, meaning all student support services, including the library, will be based on one floor.

The Student Shop will also be moved to the front of the building for better access and convenience.

From Monday 2 April construction work will begin on the ground floor and first floor of Bournemouth House, and is expected to last until mid-May. Student access to B130 will also be closed from Monday 2 April. Please take care when moving around the building during these periods.

Noise and disruption will be kept to a minimum, but a quiet study place has been created in S217, Studland House, for the duration of the work if needed.
