Big Band

The Big Band is one of the University's longest standing ensembles and enjoys a fine reputation, both in the local area and beyond. Under the direction of its distinguished leader Mr Steve Hayes, it boasts a broad and challenging repertoire and gives regular performances in a variety of exciting venues.

Membership is open to students, staff and members of the local community.

Musicians required

The following musicians are always required:

• Saxophonists
• Trumpeters
• Trombonists
• Pianists
• Bass players
• Guitarists
• Drummers.

Singers are welcome to apply for an informal audition.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place every Wednesday in the Student Hall from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
