Tuition

Whether you are singer or an instrumentalist, BU can give you the chance to learn from the professionals!

Both instrumental and vocal tuition is offered by professional musicians throughout the academic year.

As you can see, the choice is extensive, with lessons provided in:

• Singing (classical and popular)
• Piano (classical and jazz)
• Guitar (all styles)
• Bass guitar
• Violin/viola/cello/double bass
• Flute/clarinet/saxophone/bassoon/oboe
• Trumpet/trombone/French horn
• Drums/orchestral percussion.

Lessons last either 30 mins or one hour and can be booked in blocks of five. We offer an initial lesson on a one-off basis. Lesson times can be arranged to suit individual needs, and evening and weekend tuition can be organised on some instruments.

The lessons are available for BU students and other educational institutions, as well as BU staff and members of the local community. Regrettably, however, we do not offer tuition to those who are under 16 years of age.

Tuition is available at all levels. Preparation for ABRSM /Trinity Guildhall grade exams and diplomas is available but we equally appreciate that you might wish to learn for pleasure without the stress of formal assessment. Preparation for ABRSM Theory exams at grade 5, 6, 7 and 8 is also available. Public music examinations preparation includes aural training and rehearsal with a pianist.

All students will have the opportunity to perform in public if they so wish.

BU Staff

Non-Students

£13.00 per 30 minute lesson, payable in blocks of five = £65.00
